The game between closely ranked teams ended with ninth rankedLeonas ' (4-9) home victory over bottom-ranked Yauco (3-9) in Ponce 86-79 on Friday. It was a great shooting night for Leonas especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for forward Dariauna Lewis (185-2000, college: Syracuse) who led her team to a victory with 28 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Shelby Cheslek (196-1992, college: Gonzaga, agency: LBM Management) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Guard Sierra Calhoun (183-1996, college: Rutgers) answered with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and power forward Sidney Cooks (193-1998, college: Seton Hall) added 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Yauco. Four Leonas and five Yauco players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Leonas maintains ninth place with 4-9 record. Yauco lost sixth consecutive game. Yauco at the other side, also newcomer in the league, stay at the bottom position with nine games lost.
